8 Days Bird’s Watching Tour: Ngorongoro, Manyara, Tarangire, Serengeti, Arusha National Parks.

Upon arrival at JRO you will welcomed guided into your vehicle and get transferred to the Hotel in Arusha. Depending on the plane arrival time, you will spend the rest of the day as it pleases you. Either you can relax at the hotel or go for an excursion around Arusha town. Preliminary talk about your Safari program will be the following day, prior departure.

After breakfast depart to Arusha National Park, with packed lunch, then walk in the forest adjacent to Mount Meru. Here we will be escorted by an armed ranger from the Park, and make a visit to Momela Lake in search for water birds. Some of the fascinating species of birds are: Grey Heron, Little Egrets, Hartlaubs turaco, Greater Cormorant, Little Grebe, Silvery cheeked hornbill, White starred robin, Montane white eye, Waller’s starling, White fronted bee-eater, Tropical boubou, White eared Barbet, Mountain buzzard, Maccoa duck, Crowned Eagle, Narina’s trogon among many others.

After breakfast depart to Tarangire National Park with picnic lunch. On arrival to the park, you will be led on a tour by our bird specialist guide. Here you will encounter a lot of interesting species such as; Black shoulder Kite, Red and yellow barbet, Sunbirds, Red billed Quelea, Great white Egrets, Violet tipped courser, Heuglin’s Courser, Orange bellied parrot, Yellow collared lovebird, Red & yellow barbet, Saddle billed Stock, Mottle throated spine tail, Abyssinian Scimitar bill, Greater honey guide, African Hawk eagle, Black chested snake eagle, Brown snake eagle, Goliath heron, Ashy Starling.

After an early breakfast, you will receive short brief from the professional driver guide before safari commence. Later drive to Lake Manyara with packed lunch and conduct a walking safari on the Rift Valley Escarpment. Lake Manyara National Park lies at the foot of the Great Rift Valley and it covers 330 square km. The Park has a forest supported by presence of underground water. Lake Manyara National Park has a diversity of habitats that is Forest, Acacia woodland, underground water and the alkaline lake. The park has a list covering up to 380 species of birds.
These are among many other interesting species of birds you will encounter at Lake Manyara National Park: Lilac breasted roller, Rough breasted roller, Southern black flycatcher, Silvery cheeked hornbill Madagascar pratincole, Chestnut banded plover, European bee-eater, Ping backed pelican, Marabou stork, Cattle egret, Yellow-red billed stock ,Dusky turtle dove, Palm nut vulture, Egyptian vulture, , Purple crested Turacco, Taita fiscal, Red bill hornbill, Grey hornbill, Ground hornbill, Crested guinea fowl, Black winged stilt, African spoon bill, Egyptian goose and Spur winged plover.

After an early breakfast depart towards the Highlands of Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority. Full day game drive with picnic lunch, if lucky enough view ‘’the big 5’’ in the Crater. This day we will also conduct a walking safari in the forest looking for forest birds.
Ngorongoro too has variety of bird species, among interesting species you may encounter here are: Golden winged sunbird, Mountain yellow eye, Mountain greenbul, Tropical boubou, Augur buzzard, Black saw wing, Grey capped warbler, Black kite, Red knobed coot, Avocet, Anteater chat, Baglafecht weaver, Hunters cisticola, Red rumped swallow, Montane nightjar, Schalows Turaco, Scaly Francolin, Grey capped warbler, Black kite, Red knobed coot, Avocet grey heron, secretary bird, Paradise flycatcher, Dusky flycatcher, White eye slaty flycatcher.

After breakfast depart with packed lunch to Serengeti National Park. This beautiful park is the home to more than 2 millions large animals. Its vast “endless plains” makes it even more attractive and easy to spot wildlife even from far. This is where the famous Great Migration of Wildebeest, Zebra and other antelopes still on progress. You will spend two days Game driving by a 4×4 safari jeep in this vast Park and its different habitats. Among interesting species you may encounter in this Park are: Nubian vulture, Lilac breasted roller, Von der Decken’s Hornbill, Hildebrandt’s starling, Silverbird, Red throated tit, Bare faced go away bird, Pink throated long claw, Cliff chat, Grey breasted spurfowl, Usambiro barbet, White backed vulture, White headed vulture, Ruppels vulture, Secretary bird, Grey headed social weaver, Speckled fronted weaver, Western plantain eater, Fischer’s lovebird, Brown parrot, Kori bustard, Sooty chat, Verreaux eagle.
